10-31-06 Goodbye Nails

I am not sure where to start with this journal entry...it is kind of silly...especially with so many other much much much more important issues going on in the world...:cry But tonight I have to say goodbye to my acrylic nails. I love my nails!!! I have had them for a few years now, and they have always helped me feel at least a little pretty. When I take them off tonight all I will have left is short, stubby, fat fingers instead of eyecatching, interesting, elegant looking fingers and nails. My nails will also be atrocious when I take the acrylics off. Again, I know that it is really ridiculous and I will get over it, but I just wanted to express how I feel about saying goodbye to my nails that helped me feel at least just a tad bit pretty under the most difficult circumstances...

I had to LOL because I can TOTALLY relate! I even called my PA to find out if I would have to take my overlays off. I have gone from tips to overlays since my nails are long now and the overlays are soooo pretty and natural looking. My 16 y/o daughter said geesh mom you can get them back on after the surgey. LOL But in the meantime I'll feel naked. And my nails may break and I'll need tips again ... oh woe is me. Now if I would just that darn surgery date so I could take them off!

I know! I totally get it! I will feel very very naked without them. Fake nails help make me feel pretty! Good luck with getting your surgery date!

my young friend had never had her nails done and she had nice nails but I said oh you should at least go in for a manicure and let them paint them. So she did and she said look look I got my nails done... I said nice, how did it make you feel and she said pretty. LOL I'm telling you if I'm feeling down and I go in and get a color change it lifts my spirits - geesh I'm simple! thanks for the good luck - its so hard waiting. But I feel alot better tonight then I did this morning. BTW good luck to you.
