Hi 20 months out.. and i should know this already, but first time this happened to me..

HI,

I am below goal (well was) 130 and my goal was 135. I got some (.25cc) taken out of my 14cc band, now at 8.90cc. I kept losing and didnt want to, that was 7 weeks ago, I saw my doctor and thought of getting a little more out because i saw 128 a couple times between visit, but when i weigh in at his office, i stayed the same weight as last time., so, i didnt. then for a few days now, i seem to be able to eat more then before, no warnings, and had pizza last night and usually can on handle a few bites, but ate the whole slice and part of the other, not the end crust though. and this morning at a slice of cold pizza, usually cant eat in the am, well most mornings, none the less pizza! And my scale is up to 133 too in weeks time. Debating when i need that fill back or what. I hope something isnt wrong wiht my band all of sudden. No pain or anything. In the past of have gone months between fills and no issues wiht hungar really. I just wonder i got used to be on the tight side and now it's not as tight and feels wide open. Also, for some strange reason i've been craving soda too, been without it the hole time, and no big deal but in the past week or so, been drinking some over ice and boy it taste great, before it kind of hurt when i drank it, not now. Thanks in advance for any advice..

I really dont have any response to your problem. I would however like to ask you a question. At what fill did you start noticing that you were losing weight without trouble? I am only at 2.5 cc's and I am still eating like a pig. I feel so lost. I know ou are at 8.90 cc and you seem to be losing without any trouble at all. I want to get to that point so much. I hope you solve your problem though because you seem like such a success. Best wishes to you!

I know when I eat pizza. Only 2 time....I retained a lot of water. So...I took it off my list of foods to eat. I may try it when I am a little lighter. However, I don't like what it does to the scale, and since my second fill, it doesn't "sit" very well with me. It may just be water retention. As for the craving soda....???? I think I would make sure I had other options available. Good luck with your journey!

I really noticed a difference after my 3rd fill. I had about 4.5 or so in at that time. So, hang in there restriction comes, best to go slow on fills though. :)

Yeah, funny how you can do with out soda for almost 2 years, then it gets control of you again, kind of like smoking..lol./.(but never smoked Thank God)... yeah, I will just have to resist it again.. back to water!!

I don't think you are doing anything to your band however soda does stretch it so I would stay away from that. As you know with the band it tightens and loosens due to many reasons...like your monthly cycle, stress and other things in our lives. We also know that taking and adding a minimal amount can change our band significantly...maybe you really only needed .15 taken out vs .25. I know I was doing fine after I hit my sweet spot at 5.0 in a 10cc band 4 months after being banded...hit my goal 7 months later (total of 130 lbs) and then 2 months later I started having my period every 2 weeks and my grandma passed away..I was little too tight and I really never quit losing since I hit my goal of losing 125 so my dr took out 1cc. So things do happen. I think maybe you should get .1 or .15 put back in..it doesn't sound like much but I know my band is very sensitive and maybe you are too? I wish you the very best!!! Take care!!

I dont' think it is the band either. I have days that I can barely eat beause I am tight and then the next day I can eat everything with no problems. I was told stress plays a factor and can make the band tighter. Not sure how that works but who knows. I have not been losing weight just staying the same for a little bit but most days I feel I am in the green zone so I don't want to get any fills right now. I think if I actually exercise maybe the weight loss would kick back in. I have lost 92 lbs so I guess what I am doing is working for me. The key is finding what's right for you. Everyone is different.

Keep in mind excess breads will cause you to gain weight. Pizza is a carb fest and if you are eating it for breakfast, keep words break and fast, you may need to switch up what you eat. You are breaking the fast from overnight. I always eat pure protein in the mornings. Usually eggs. Just a thought. I know it's what works for me. Protein first, veggies second and if still hungry carbs. At each meal I eat a salad plate size of food per my doc.
