Damn it, 240lbs and pissed / gained 37lbs in 3 years

My lowest # was 203lbs and I then thought "The Bom" and then it all went to shit. For some reason my mind "I think took over" and screwed it all up :) LOL or at least thats who I am blaming today LOL :). SO, moving forward I have NEVER had a fill in 4 years so I think it is time. My goal is to get Fills in 2011 and IFFN by JULY I am not at or below 220 I am going to have this band removed ONLY to have it put back on in 2012 / the surgery is always good for a boost I figure. God Bless everyone who makes the attempt to be a better person inside and out. I STILL - LOVE MY BAND

I would definitely first keep on a fill schedule through the year and keep checking in with the doc and nutritionist before pulling and going through surgery again! I think we all forget that this tool needs to be maintained (like our cars) and we need to go in regularly for checks and fills and reminders to keep with the program. Good luck!

Why did you gain weight back? Didnt you still have fluid in your band? I didnt think the band was just to lose the weight initially but rather to maintain it for the rest of our lives. Do you disagree or could you explain why you would remove the band and then have a new one put back on?

I agree with Bardy. I have had my band on for 4 yrs. I stopped allowing the band to work for me after the initial bliss wore off.. The consequences was as yours. Gain Gain Gain... Did I mentioned I gained weight? lol I have recognized my compulsion to eat as my relationship to food is being revealed. . The band still works great when I allow it to. The band never left me , I left it and all it could do for me. I think the same for your band.. It is still there waiting for you to use it. So get it filled and find that determination and mind set that allowed you to lose the weight you had. You will find a new apprectiation and a gratitude for your band and this helpful site. Blessings
