Anyone get LAP BANDED IN MEXICO? How was it?

I live in Canada and our insurance sucks as far as being able to have the Lap Band covered so I am a self pay and was banded by Dr. Joya in PV Mexico on Nov 17th , 2010 and I would have not done it anywhere else! I had the best experience with him and his staff and I took a GF with me (no leave left for my husband) who also was banded by him 1.5 years ago (lost 98 lbs) and he was so excited to see her!!! May I ask how much it cost? I am also self pay. I weigh 173 and I am 5 ft tall. I am so sick of this weight battle. Tired of going to fat dr for diet pills that dont work.
