My Beginning

I have started the process to get the LAP-BAND®. I have gone to the cardiologist, pulmenologist, i have gotten the blood work, gone to the seminars and i have my sleep study test this Saturday. Everything is moving very fast and I am extremely excited. I do have some worries about the surgery but it can't come soon enough. :smile2:

Goodluck bluerose! I know all of the pre op stuff makes you feel like you are jumping through hoops. I know I was glad to have done it because the first group I went to sent me running. I found them very cold and not really all that understanding. After trying it on my own for a while. I found another group. They made you feel that they were there for you and would support you through this journey. It was a world of difference! In that sense, all of the pre op stuff helped me determine which group of peoples I felt comfortable working with. I wish you the best as you embark on your weight loss journey!

Congratulations bluerose! Going through the preop process sounds long at first and then it seems to come up so fast. Nobody I know is excited about surgery, no one. So just take it one day at a time and know that the surgery and healing really isn't that bad. The hardest part of this is dealing with the emotional connection to food and/or the habits we form when we eat. Example, eating the wrong foods, finishing kids plates, picking up a french fry with out thinking. LOL Good luck, I was banded November 2, 2010 and I am feeling good over all.
