Feeling pretty good, so far. I have been doing a lot of walking and being up and around...I hope I'm not overdoing it! But, I'm not really having any gas pains at all, so I guess that is good. I have also been sipping a lot of water and G2. The only real complaint that I have is my throat! I called the doctor's office this morning and spoke with a nurse who told me it is normal to have throat pain after surgery, due to the tube. As long as there isn't a temperature, I should be better in a few days. thank goodness for pain meds! My incisions are doing okay, too. It doesn't hurt as bad to go to the bathroom or get up from a chair. Or, sleep, for that matter. last night was MUCH better sleepwise!

I do miss food, though. I don't really have hunger pangs, to speak of. When I get a little hunger feeling, I have a thin protein shake and I am better for awhile. Thankfully, the doctor said I can have those and soups in addition to the clear liquids. That is nice.

I went to the store today to pick up some food with my husband that I can puree this next week. I am so excited for that! I miss actual flavors! haha!

How is everyone else doing who has been banded recently?

i'm glad to see you've been out. I've been plastered in bed and in the house. I guess today i will venture out into town to buy some stuff. i'm still on clear stuff until tuesday then it's back to protein shakes. I can't wait for the mushy phase!

This is my 5th day since surgery, and I do have a lot of gas. Not much for the first couple of days tho, lots of shoulder pain which I understand has something to do with the gas. Whenever I do anything other than sit or lay, my shoulder hurts. My incisions haven't really hurt at all. I miss food too. I am not at all hungry, but I will be so ready to eat (chew) again. I have lost 5 lbs since surgery, total of 21 lbs since 9-8-10. Easy to lose when I'm not eating, sure hope and pray that it still comes off when I start eating. Glad your are doing ok, and Latin Starr, sorry you had a bad issue w/pain meds.

I'm glad you 3 are all doing so well - congratulations. It gets better - really! I was banded 7/15/10 and just had my first fill on Friday. I've been doing really well and have NO complaints! My advice is to just keep doing what you are supposed to do and let the band work with you. Best wishes!

I had surgery on 9/29and have gas pains that I can't get rid of. I am taking Mylanta, bto no avail.

I am also very nauseous. Does this mean I am sipping too much?

Hi everyone. I had surgery on the 28th so 4 days ago. It was just day surgery so I came home like9 hours later. The pain was not to bad. I have been taking my liquid pain medication every 4-6 hours. Yesterday my gas was really bad but today it is feeling better. Today i had a little chicken broth, jello and a protein shake. i tried the ones from the bariatric place and could not swallow it. I ended up having a slim fast ready made shake. good luck to everyone. Keep us all updated :o

My doctor's office said for gas pain, just makes sure it has simethicone (sp?) 40 in it....I've also been walking like no other (just being up, around, and out), so that may be helping to keep it at bay. I do find at night, when I am laying in bed with the hubby, that i can't stop tooting, though **blushing**
