Night 2 Post Op

It's a little after midnight here. I just got up and my throat is killing me! Anyone else have this problem after surgery? I'm really wondering if I should go in to have it swabbed or if it is just maybe normal to have this. I have a lot of drainage, too (although, I had drainage on surgery day, too). Also, I was on antibiotics a few days before surgery. Ouch, help!

Seems like the tube might have scratched your throat a little? A second possibility is you got a little flu in the hospital. I'd call. In the interim sugar free Popsicles if you can have those. Otherwise a lot of ice chips. Do you feel any issues otherwise? Temp? Feel better soon!

No temperature. I called the nurses line yesterday and they said if I do get a temperature, to be seen. But, I guess I will just gargle with salt water and keep on my pain meds for a little while longer :-) Still completely worth the pain, though!

I dont know if you can use chloraseptic throat spray, but its great after surgery.

Chloraseptic and sugar free ice pops will be the winning combination. They scratched you while taking out the tube, but it won't last very much longer.

Congratulations on having the lapband. This was the best gift you could give yourself. Keep walking as much as possible to help the gas pass and to get yourself ready to start exercise when the doctor says it is OK. It is really the key to losing the weight.

Best of luck to you and welcome to our club.

Thank you all for the suggestions...I continue to walk, which keeps gas at bay. I'm surprised that I really haven't had much at all! I have my sugar free pops which helps with my throat. I'm thinking I might have to have a refill on my pain meds to get me through another couple days (primarily, at night) but then I should be good!
