I hate the gym, I hate the gym, I hate the gym!!!

I go each week but I HATE going. I have paid money for a trainer who is quite nice and does a good job but I can't help but hate the gym. I wish I never had to step foot in there again.

I am sorry you hate the gym. I love the gym....have always loved working out...it just makes me feel better. Ok...so now that you hate me too I just wanted to give you some suggestions.

Try a group fitness class. My favorites are Body Pump, Spinning classes, and Zumba or any kind of dance class. Get a friend to go with you and just go have a good time and laugh.

Another suggestion is pick a "program" and work towards a goal. It gives you something to focus on besides each step you are taking on that treadmill. Couch to 5k is a great program. Or set a specific goal and work towards it. Right now I am trying to cut down my time on my 5k. Each workout I am competing with myself to beat my last time. And when you beat your last time or amount of weights you do or amount of reps you do you will feel so good. :)

Good luck!

Somehow you have to work around hating the place and deciding to love how the place makes you feel after you've been there. You've lost a lot of weight already and I'm sure you feel lighter and brighter :-). I try to self-talk myself into the fact that an hour after I've left I'll feel great, and my pants are baggy! I'm taking little steps.....

If you find some music you like, put it on the MP3 player and dance with it while you are lifting or on a cardio machine.

And tell your trainer you hate the gym. A good trainer will work with you to mix it up a little? They won't go easier on you they can just change it up a bit.

I completely agree with sunflower. I always like classes and I LOVE being able to meet goals. Each time I get on my treadmill, I aim for something a little better than I did before. I don't like it, but I feel such satisfaction from "winning". :)

How long have you been going? Go every day for 21 days you'll develop a habit... and start to love it. I love it when I go, I just need to become consistent
