Post Op Day 3 / Joined a gym

Well, I have been moving around to keep the soreness down and it has worked beautifully. Two days ago was the surgery and I came home and didn't even lay down. I got up feeling better the next day and even quite a lot better this morning. Can't wait for tomorrow to get here. I also joined a gym tonight. I feel like a crazy person but I'm trying to invest in this lifestyle change.

I hope you just joined and didn't do anything. Let yourself heal. Then have a great time at the gym.

It is important that you don't do any weight lifting or strenuous exercise for at least the 1st 4 - 6 weeks. Start out slow with walking and bike riding. My doc didn't recommend eliptical until 4 weeks post-op. Even though you feel great you can cause damage to you stomach and band area if you not carefull. Onward Slowly...

Yes your correct. I just joined but haven't done anything there until I get a release from my Dr to do the exercise there. :):)

Great advice. I joined but I haven't done any exercise until I get a release to do the exercise there. Onward slowly is right on the money.:)

    • I’ve used my Xbox for exercise games too and it can be pretty motivating, especially on days when I don’t want to leave the house. Kinect games really do make you move, and after a session with kickboxing or dancing, I always feel like I’ve actually gotten a solid workout. The controller-free setup feels way more natural for workouts than anything I tried on the Wii. Zumba is fun but definitely takes a little time to get the moves right. Lately, when I’m not working out, I spend time trading CS2 skins and finding new guides on this link. There’s a lot of interesting tips if you’re into games outside of fitness too.
