Diffculties finding the right foods

Hello All,

I am new to this LAP-BAND® site. I have read some very interesting post. I'm a little lost with some of the LAP-BAND® language, but I'm getting use to it. I was banded in November 2009 and have had 3 fills. Is it common to have pain with eating? I'm not sure what I can eat. One day I can eat tuna with no problem and the next day I have issues with eating chicken? Does fried vs. baked matter?

Beginning weight: 208lbs

Current Weight: 190lbs

Current fill: 5.5cc

I had my 2nd fill last Monday. I had very few issues before that, but now I'm finding that I have to be very careful. I have to take extremely small bites and chew A LOT. It is easier to eat mushy foods like soup and ice cream, but I'm trying very hard to eat the solid protein like we are supposed to do. I cannot eat beef (except ground beef) or pork right now. I can do chicken and fish if they are moist.

Good luck!

Hello Sweet P, I don't think you should have pain when you eat. We were banded probably around the same time. I was banded on 11/23/9. When I got my 3rd fill I had some pain when I ate. I kind of put up with it for about 2 1/2 weeks thinking the band would loosen up a little but it just seemed to get worse. I had to get a little unfill and things are much better now. No more pain or gurgling.
