Failed to lose the required weight for the operation

I am really sad and mad; I went to the strax on Feb 8th (first visit) was told had to lose 40-50 pounds before surgery which they booked me for March 4th. On the 27th I went in for a follow-up to find out I only lost 11 pounds. So doctor tells me that I have to push the surgery back to the 12th. I did the diet of two shakes, one small meal, water, and flax seed pills. I am mad because they give me a date so close how could I ever lose 40-50 in three weeks I REALLY TRIED AND STUCK TO THE PRE OP DIET.

This made me feel like a loser which has kind of changed my outlook on this whole thing. This is messing with my head. I am freaking out about the actual surgery, questions I should be asking and now this.

Has this happen to anyone or I am I going about this all wrong?
