Loosing weight slowly Help

I had my lap band surgery on Dec 21, 2009. My 1st fill was on 1/27/10. I weighed in at 194lbs. My start weight was 211. I am now feeling more hungry than ever before. I use to not eat all day and eat dinner and be fine. I try to eat 6 small meals but it's sometimes hard to do. I will eat and of course a small portion and be completly full. then in an hour or so I'm starving again. Do I need another fill or wait until my next appt which is a month and half away?

I completely understand what you are going through. I am there with you. My surgery was 12.20.09 I lost 23 lbs preop and the week post op and then stopped. I have lost nothing since then. I have my second fill tomorrow. I am hoping I get a little restriction. I called my dr office and they said this is normal and not to worry about it. According to others on this site we are in what they call Bandster hell where our bands don't have enough in them to actually do their job. I think it is just about will power and muddling through right now. My dr. office said as long as I was not gaining I was ok. So we just have to stay focused!

I hope this helps.

You probably need another fill just because most people do not get much restriction w/just one. So, I'd definitely make an appt for another fill. The goal I have from my doctor is to only eat three meals a day. These meals can be as big as I need to be satisfied, but should not take longer than 20 minutes to eat. No snacks at all between meals and the meals should consist mostly of solid protein. The solid protein is what helps the meal to last a lot longer. Mushy foods or carbs will not last you as long so you are more likely to get hungry before your next meal. Also, no drinking during your meal or for at least 30 minutes after (I usually try for an hour). In between meals, after the 30-60 minutes, if you get hungry, drink plain water and lots of it. This really works for me. A lot of times I am not really hungry I guess cause the water gets me through just fine. Also, eliminate all liquid calories and try getting rid of artificial sweeteners. I've found that since I gave up artificial sweeteners, I no longer crave sweets so much. All that said, I've just had my second fill and it has made a huge difference in helping me stick to all these rules.
