WAHHH... my insurance won't cover it!

I am sooo sick of hearing people complain that their insurance won't cover their surgery and / or won't cover their fills... did your medical insurance buy you the hoho's and bonbon's or the couch and video games that helped you get here?

Suck it up, if you want something bad enough you will find a way to make it happen.

I am a single mother with 3 kids and 2 jobs. I drive a used car and don't do many extra things because I put my health on my priority list a few years ago and saved for my surgery... self pay!!!

I have to pay for all of my fills and follow ups myself and am sooo sick of hearing all the big babies complain that they have to pay a portion of the cost themselves...

WAHHHHHHH, cry me a river!!!

Congrats to you for having the tenacity to go out and earn what you wanted and do a self-pay but I think you're missing the point for those people who are upset.

Most people posting on here are upset because they didn't get approved (even though their insurance does cover it for some people) and have to go through appeals etc... And then there's the group that has paid and paid and paid for medical insurance many of them rarely using it, and now that they want to, they find out it's no good. Understandably, it's a bit disappointing for them.

Then there's the next group who make comment on the obscene amounts of money that is being charged to their insurance. Unlike a flat fee with a selfpay You would expect ok it's 15K self pay, they'll bill my insurance probably 20 25K..no big deal, then you see your 45 min, 3 hrs and 39 min total stay in a surgery center, not even a hospital is 80K. Sticker shock to say the least. - Yes the last part is my personal experience.

All of that being said, I understand where you're coming from but again I think you missed the point on where other people are coming from. Oh and for the record, not everyone gets fat from eating like you mentioned. I think if you take the time to get to know some people here instead of judging everyone you might find that out for yourself.

it's just really frustrating to hear this crying every day on here... i like to read the encouraging things and the frustrations and successes of those who are doing it and making it work...and how. of coarse there are some monetary frustrations, but c'mon today the poster was complaining about paying for a fill for gods sake... she got the surgery and all previous fills paid for in full... and she was complaining about $250... then yelled at me for suggesting that that was a good price for a fill. I have heard of them being as hight as $1200 with Flouroscopy.

In addition... I also pay a fortune for health insurance for myself and children and it does not cover anything for me in this regard... nor will it cover any problems I have related to the band.

I gained my weight after being hospitalized after DV... and the ending of my 12 year marriage... depression and total lack of self control or care for that matter.

Which brings me to the point that by the time you decide this is what you want to do you should be honest enough with youself to know what you are willing to do to achieve your goal, and complaining about a few dollars weather it be $250 or $15k isn't the issue... your health is and if you want to succeed you will make it happen.

Money comes and goes... you only get one body!

Most people are on here to learn and support each other not listen to babies cry about a few bucks... my point is that if you don't really want it bad enough to do it then don't.

I completely agree with you...there seems to be a group of people on here who seem to just be negative and do nothing more complain and/or self-sabotage, then complain some more about why the band isn't doing it's job, then complain about fills and anything else that comes to mind. I try to stay clear of those posts..But the joy of the internet is it's all pixels on a screen, everyone goes away with the click of an X lol... But let me guess your issue happened in the forums? Yeah I try to stay outta there... dangerous out there LOL. Then again those of us like you and me who have survived real issues and real life problems don't see the use in whining and complaining because we KNOW life could be alot worse than having to pay for a fill or two... I totally feel you on that. Most people don't realize who truly blessed they are and how thankful they should be.
