Waiting for Approval from my company not Blue Cross...

Found out that the Lap Band Surgery is excluded from my policy :smile2:.. not by BCBS but by my place of employment. I had to send an appeals letter to my company for approval..(weird). Has anyone else out there experienced the same thing? I would love to hear how it turned out.

    How can your employer dictate what the insurance company will cover? My employer doesnt even know I had the surgery. IM lost on this one.

    Because when the employer is reviewing which type of plan to take for their empoyees the insurance company ask if you want certain benefits to be covered under your group policy. Depending on what the insurance company covers will decide your companies premiums.
