I think their just scared. They may not understand just what will happen. Do you have any local support groups that you all can attend? Here in San Diego we have support groups every month for family and friends to attend with us so we all could be on the same page of just what was going to be expected before, during and after.

You will eat, you must eat to survive. Your eatting pattern will change and change for the better. Your amounts will change too. Your family may learn from this also on how to eat in a better way, I know that mine are.

It will be a journey like no other for you and them.

If you read forums on this site, you will learn a lot.

Keep posting, let us help you.

I am 4 weeks post op ant I have had pizza to Lobster. In small amounts of course eat slowly and chew, chew, chew, to beat the BAND. I have had hamburger (no bun) wrapped in lettuce so good. The only thing I have found I can not swallow just yet is grilled red meats and pork if it is too dry I have a hard time with it and it sits in my stomach not such a good feeling. I do not waste my time talking to my family about my life choices. They just do not get it!!! This is my journey. Talk here on these pages people do read and listen and share their experiences and it is such a relief. I do have some family support but have found they do not want me talking about it all the time. I have kept the learning to myself, I am happily post op and have taken a week vacation and survived on restaurant food by making good choices. I have lost I know since my op 37 pounds and I weigh in tomorrow and get my first fill. I know I have lost I have gone down 2 sizes and non of my clothes fit. The journey is a long one and many good things happen along the way. Best wishes to you and hope to hear from you again. imaluckydog
