On my way??

I'm scared and excited - i want to get banded becuase i can see all the good it will do - but i'm scared something will happen to me - I have a small child and relly want and need to be here for them -My quality of life has diominsihed so much that I am miserable most of the time -i wnat to do wht my mind is telling me i can do - i have an apt with MD surgeon next month and am trying to be patient but i want to get things done NOW! What do i do while I wait - what can I get out of the way now so
