Depends on your body and your surgeon...i can eat pineapple and peanut butter with no problem...i can also eat bread,rice,pasta...all in moderation an no more than 2 servings a day..but i can physically eat it just fine

Oh these were things that a friend ( who has the band) said should not be eaten with the band cause it could cause problems. She said no soda and such.

Exactly as AlaskaGirl77 says. ASK your doc!

I can eat anything ... ANY thing. My doc today even told me (at almost 1 year post op) that I could now have carbonation if it goes down ok! (It has been off-limits now since the surgery)

Some people have problem foods, others don't. I don't. So wait and see what works for you!

Thanks guys. Its so nice to be able to come here and ask things. She scared me for a minute.... I love peanut butter! LOL Thanks again!

I just had some peanut butter and crackers with my dinner yesterday.

I have been able to eat peanut butter and pineapple. However, I have problems with rice, potatoes and nectarines. I chew my food well, but I have had to pretty much give up these foods.

It's just odd how different the docs and post op directions are, and yet how successful so many are. My doc doesn't restrict foods. It's possible there is an "unsweetened" rule so that you can lose, but I don't really know that for sure!

It's best to follow the rules YOUR surgeon gives you. I will say if there is one that's really hard for you ask your surgeon why...see if it applies to you.
