I'm not one to judge others without knowing them/all the facts, but this one burned me!!! I watched the announcements of the Octuplets being born, and thought; well it must have happened due to follicle stimulation because no Dr. would do invitro with 8 or more embryos. Yesterday I watched as the experts gave their opinions with the same conclusion I came to. There was no way any of them would have done invitro with that many eggs and they would turn someone away who wanted that, so they also felt it must have been egg stimulation that caused this.

Now this morning I learn that the mother, who is currently living at home with her mother, already has six children (we know nothing about the father)!!!! And here's the kicker...it WAS invitro!!!! Holy Cow!!! I get that there are crazy people out there, so I'm writing the mom off as nuts, but what the heck happened to regulating and having rules about ethics for this for the Drs.??!! What's next...cloning? Know that I have family members and friends that have been helped by fertility specialists, so I know the benefit in using one, but this guy crossed the line. Just MO.

This case just gets weirder...why would the sperm donor come forward now? Because if he can have it proven that he is the donor, HIS book deal will be possible. If he gets ANY money from this, it should be placed into a trust for the children.

On the other hand - doesn't a sperm donor through a "bank" sign something that says they are not responsible for the children produced? If he did this without going through normal "channels" then what is his legal responsibility? Does he want the babies?

If I was his wife, I'd be furious - not just because he donated sperm to a MARRIED woman, but because he didn't tell me. You would think he would have given his wife the option of pulling back any remaining "deposits" so that she wouldn't have to worry about any future half-siblings!

I really hope she fades from view soon - all the notoriety (sp?) won't continue...she does not deserve the fame she's seeking, and I sincerely hope she does not get a SINGLE, SOLITARY book deal, movie, made-for-tv-movie, or anything else unless the income goes into a trust for the children.

She's just a disgrace, pure and simple...:w00t:

The Today Show had another segment this morning on Octomom with her mother (an heated argument/interview with Radaronline.com). The discussion was around how 'persuasive and wellspoken' Nadia sounds as she bulldozes her Mom in the interview (Mom is very soft spoken but tries hard to make valid points that Nadia just ignores). The point was that if you really listen to Nadia's words, they don't make and sense and she does not have a handle on the real world.

They also had Gloria Allred and the head of that 'Angels in Waiting' non-profit group. The Angels lady was a nurse and what they've offered Nadia is nursing care (that's what this group does) for pre-mature high-risk babies (which the 8 are). I give the woman kudos for also saying her concern is for the babies and they are offering this service, no matter whether the babies are with her, in foster care or adoptive homes even. She didn't mention the 'place to stay' being part of the offer, but other stories (Dr. Phil) said that. She did mention they sill need dontations to continue this care any length of time. Apparently they've given Nadia until Thursday to accept or reject their offer.

JMO- She needs to be hauled off to the funny-farm if she doesn't accept this.

*They also showed a clip from Oprah's show, airing today, with the Dad saying he believes she has mental problems.

She told him she had cancer , or so he says.

they also showed a clip from radar.online of an exchange between octomom & her mom. she talked to her mother horribly....she kept claiming over/over again that she had only 2 choices; have the children (embryos implanted) or destroy them. she actually had a third, and that would have been in donating them....

her poor mother looked awfully tired, told her daughter she needed to get help.....

She's made numerous references to what was lacking in her upbringing, which is why she says she chose to have all these kids -- so that SOMEbody would love her. :w00t:

However, obviously she has no problem trashing mom all the while using her for her own benefit. When she's out running around the town, who the hell is watching those kids? Her mom, I would guess.

Yah, if octotwat is having children in the hopes of having creatures who will love her regardless, her plan, she will find out when they become teenagers, will have been in vain. But that's the thing -- in THIS case, he DID know. If all I've read is even remotely true, he was in love with her, had had a relationship with her, and she had had problems getting pregnant the traditional way. He supplied sperm for her to have IVF.

Sorry, but that's not the same as going to a sperm bank and getting a "withdrawal" from an anonymous source. As far as I'm concerned, this guy IS the father and needs to step up toot sweet.
