Exercising on pre op diet

I am starting my pre op diet (full liquids) on Tuesday. Can anyone who has done this tell me if they exercised?

I have my surgical consult on Monday, and will ask then, but I'm curious as to whether or not anyone has done that, or do you not have energy?

I was terrified I wouldn't lose the weight in time for my surgery date and I was told he cancels if you do not meet the expected loss, so you bet I was exercising my butt off! I walked everyday during my lunch and then came home and used my treadmill, it worked, I lost more than needed before my surgery and it got me on my way :

Good luck to you!

I walked on the treadmill, but it was a very slow walk. It was hard to find the energy, but I wanted to have a quick recovery from surgery and walking helps with that.

Do you need to take some weight off before he/she will do the surgery on you? If not than exercise away. No GOOD weight loss Doctor is going to tell you to not exercise. (except for a short period of time after the surgery)

Thank you all very much. I have been exercising, and I do have a lot of weight to lose. I'll find out on Monday if my surgeon tells me if and how much.

I've been exercising for quite a while, even before I considered lap band surgery, so I'm hoping it just means I have a head start on things.

My doctor didn't have me lose any weight before surgery. I did try exercising with the pre-op diet and didn't do so well. My body rebelled, I got very dizzy when I was tired. I didn't start the gym until I went on mushies. Then I felt better. Best of luck to you!

Thank you, Diane. I'm thinking that maybe I'll just go on the treadmill and not try anything else. It will help with all the nervousness I know I'll feel.
