I gave up on the Protein shakes. I thought I could stomach the Max Protein but after nearly gagging while drinking one last night, and then burping it up all night, I realized that I cannot do that. I'm not even banded yet, I go in tomorrow.

So, today I went and got some of the protein bullets. I also tried the Isopure Fruit drinks. I tasted the bullets and the were great. I drank an Isopure and it was delicious, but it gave me cotton mouth something fierce. Then again, I chugged it in less than an hour, I would imagine sipping it slowly on ice would help with the cotton mouth. Also, after drinking, I was running around like a monkey on crack. I had more energy today than I've had in years. And I'm at the end of the 10 day pre op diet, my all rights I should be laing in my bed, passed out from lack of energy.

That's my two cents.

My preference is Slim Fast low carb chocolate... they're the easiest since pre-made but not as much protein as some of the mixes (especially if you mix with milk or soymilk)

I go to The Viatamin Shoppe and buy the whey isolate protein powder. They have a wide selection of flavors. I mix the poder with non fat milf in my Bullet. When I need to take a shake with me, I but either Lean Body or Muscle Mildk also available in flavors at The Viatamin Shoppe:smile:

I use Isopure Perfect Low Carb in chocolate or vanilla- 50 grams protein- tastes good and you can get it drom vitaminshoppe.com for 35.99

My doc and nutitionist told me not to drink the slimfast. I forgot why, but they said it wasnt a good drink for us to use.

I like Matrix 5.0 by syntrax in chocolate. Yummy and not all gritty like most whey proteins. I got it at vitamin shoppe in a 5lb bag for $43. Last a long time.

Not sure about you, but I find the (gag!) shakes so gross!! The only one that tastes good to me is SlimFast, but it has too little Protein to be of much use to us (though I do have one for breakfast most days).

My doctor gave me an ISOPURE drink in my post-op pack that's more like a sports drink. They sell them at GNC, and they have more than 40 grams of protein, no carbs & no sugar. The taste is WAY better than the shakes. I put a photo of the bottle in an early post on my blog.

I belong to a health and wellness company that has wonderful protein drinks! They also have the best vitamins on the market (clinically proven) email me if you want more info. I would love to share! tktruitt@gmail.com

I use the 365 from Whole Foods. It comes in vanilla and chocolate and I add flavorings or frozen fruit into the blender. They taste great and friends are also using them . I sometimes have one during the day if the total protein for the day is not at 60. The band was the best decision of my life. Good luck to all with the "journey"

I have tried several of the suggestions for the Protein shake supplements. I really haven't tried too many of the powders b/c you have to buy in such bulk.

The Isopure Fruit drinks looked and smelled pretty good but they did give you incredible dry mouth.

I think what I like best is EAS carb control in chocolate fudge... only 17 grams of protein but you can get an 8 pack at walmart for $7.68 or something like that.

I have found the more protein it has the worst it tastes~! LOL

Thanks for all the suggestions!

Might not be the best for you, but I love Carnival Instant Breakfast shakes. They are soooo good. They have SF and one marked 4X protein, both will do when I need to do a day of liquids. Easy and cheap to get in the grocery store. Much better than canned versions.

Everyone seems to have their own taste when it comes to protein drinks, but i swear there are some nobody could drink!! I tried to get as many samples as I could and have lots around!! The one I like best was the Muscle Milk Light and it is very high in protein. I make just half when I have it. I like the Chocolate caramel and I add a bit of Peanut butter (something many would no doubt find gross lol) and my fav is the strawberry banana and I add a couple frozen strawberries and a half of a banana. A half of a shake keeps me satisfied for a long time. But, since I was allowed real food I much prefer a can of light tuna or occasionally albacore for a whopping 30 grams of powerful protein!!!
