Summer Weightloss Challenge

Hi guys,

I really hoped to code some neat stuff for the new challenge, but with some new challenges in my own life (newly single dad, new pastor, moving to a new house in a new town, you know, little things like that =) ) I just haven't had the chance.

I have, however, set up a new challenge, beginning this Monday and ending ON Labor Day.

On Monday, please weigh in and post your beginning weight here. If you don't want your weight posted, tell me to post it as "0", and we'll only track what you've lost, not what you weigh.

Peace,

Jonathan

This morning I am 258lbs. That's 20lbs for the challenge and 47lbs since banding 3/30/05.

Holding steady at 226 lbs

I'm up 1.5 pounds this morning :) I'm hoping it's just because of the "lady issues" that are haunting me this week... Fingers crossed for next week!

Bummer. Up one this week to 200. I guess all that beach walking and chasing kids and playing and swimming wasn't enough to offset the yummy food?! We had a great vacation though. It's good to be back. Moving forward now! And hopefully down on the scale. Great job everyone!!!

I am down to 202? So that is a total of 24 pounds since I was banded on the 30th of June. This is so exciting. I do go to the nutritionist on the 15th and will have the actual "doctor" scale. So hopefully it is in sink with the one at home.

Went on vacation from last Wednesday until yesterday. We went camping in the White Mountains in Arizona. My family and I hiked, danced (at a family reunion), etc. I couldn't eat anything because my restriction in the higher elevation barely allowed liquids, but I still gained 1.5 lbs. I'm up to 186.5 this week. Hopefully it's water weight and will be back down by next Monday. Congrats to all of you though!!!!

Down 2 for me. Only 50 to go

YIPPEE!

I'm attaching a chart for figuring out how many calories you've burned per activity. I posted this in another thread but for those who might have missed it--it has been invaluable for me. Easier and less cumbersome than finding it all in fitday.

Just take your activity times it by 7, divide it by 3500 (cal per pound) and this will give you an idea of how much you have to workout in a week to lose.

Let me know if it's helpful.

I lost about 1 lb this week-kinda bummed but not too bad considering sunday was my birthday and i had lots of cake and icecream! (and of couse a trip outn to eat to our fav restaurant),so i guess im not doin to to bad! Good luck everyone!

Christina-i totally understand!I hope your feeling better!

I finally hit the 80's that is 380. I weighed myself today and was shocked to see the dramatic weight loss. I just started walking an hour in the morning and 30 minutes at night and the weight is starting to come off and an alarming rate. It has given me motivation to work even harder.

nothing again. I'll not be weighing again. I will post my pix at the end though. Wait, I know, I'll just post the same pix I started with.

hehe. Aw Crystal! I know you hate the scales. If it gets you down, don't weigh! You can still be challenged. And I KNOW your after pic will be incredible! You bought a size Large jacket and zipped it, right? You know what to do. Forget the numbers.

I, on the other hand, love and need my scale. I am so opposite you on that one!!!

Here's the good news for me. I weighed 198.4 this morning, a new low, so I weighed myself several times over the course of the day and never once all day did I show a 200 anything. Usually I'll be 201 point something or 202 whatever at night and lose a magical few pounds in my sleep, then be 199 in the morning. I may very well be far enough below 200 now that I'll never see it again, no matter what time of day I weigh! Wow! I'll let you all know. I hope it's real. I have been a good bandster since vacation and it's working. A week of upping the calories with extra snacks at the beach helped my metabolism, I think. Right, John? lol Plus the extra exercise. Anyhow, had to post some possible encouraging news. I might just meet my 15 pound goal? Dare I say it? Wish me luck!!!!

You go girl!!! Way to do it! I'm in awe of your motivation! Wahooo!!!

Alright finally got the scale moving a little bit...down 2 pounds this week. Thanks to the fill on Tuesday but no thanks to the family reunion we had saturday I could have lost more. Some how that lemon cake made it on my plate and I just couldn't let it go to waste. :) Maybe more this week!!!!
