Hello from Oregon

Hi,

I am newly banded (8/27) and decided I needed to meet some new folks and get some support instead of watching "I love Lucy" reruns. I am struggling a bit emotionally after my surgery.

I ready Kahliah Ali's book "Fighting Weight" and thought it was fantastic. I passed it on to my brother and hope that he will consider the surgery in the future.

I am an avid scrapbooker and have been photographing the entire process, including everywhere but the operating room. I had a vena Cava filter inserted before my surgery due to a history of blood clots and the radiology team gave me a photo of the inside of my vena cava. It was really crazy!

Anyway, just thought I would say hi.

I was banded 8-28-08 and I live in North Bend Oregon. I feel pretty good today and the gas pain is almost all gone.

Congrats on your band. I am also from Oregon and had my band on Aug 5. This is a great place to find support! Make sure you read the posts and ask questions. It is inevitable that somebody else is experiencing the same things that you are and can offer advice.

I hope you are feeling better!

Hi Kristin,

Good to get to meet folks. Good to talk to folks who really "get it." Although I still totally want the glittery sparkley things like you have...

Hello Oregonians, Im looking to get banded. Can anyone refer a physician in the Portland Area, and give me details on cost, I will be self paying. Thanks!

Hello and welcome to LBT! Another Oregonian here from Eugene  I used the bariatric center of excellence at sacred heart in Eugene. Best thing I have ever done.

You will find all the support you need here I am sure... It's a support group that never sleeps!

Hi...I'm from Eugene too! I am going to my first consultation tomorrow and want to get on the road to lighter life. I'm sure that this is the right time and right thing to do. Maybe we will meet up and talk?

Hi I am from Aurora, OR. I am getting my surgery on the 29th along with my sister. I have been on the protein diet for 4 days now and it seems to be getting better by the day I am not nearly as hungry as I was the 1st 2 days.
