Do you eat breakfast???

Don't you remember all of the hype about it is "the most important meal of the day?"

Well, I never eat breakfast now because I'm not hungry til about noon. I figure calories saved calories saved.

What's you take on it?

Right now I seem to be able to eat breakfast. When I was swollen after surgery, I had a hard time. I am going for my first fill June 1st. Do you think it will make it change back to like it was when my stomach was swollen?

It might. It might not. It can take 3-5 fills to get good restriction. I had great restriction for 3 months, then it left me. Then I had 1 fill - not enough. The 2nd fill so far has been great!

I do feel like your body needs breakfast. Your stomach is empty when you first get up and until you put something in it your metabolism isn't working as hard. Putting food in gets your metabolism going and I do think it gives you more energy to get the day started and I don't feel as hungry come lunch time. Plus as others have said. If I didn't do protein at breakfast I wouldn't get in all my protein for the day. I usually do a protein shake or some yogurt for breakfast. Anything else is just to much for me to handle.

okay, I have a fill and I have restriction. I discovered that if I don't eat breakfast I get hungry earlier with that damn "hard" hungery. I think the "hard" hunger is very dangerous because I forget to chew really well, or I eat too fast or too much.

Pat, Since you usually don't want anything to eat until around 2, do you eat late at night?

I don't eat breakfast now, and eat around 12 and I'm hoping to be banded the end of July.

You've done such a good job.

Sandie

Thank you Sandie, I do eat a little later than I should, just because we're busy in the evening. We tend to play most evenings, (ahhh it's so great once the kids are grown). We live on the Water and ride jetskis or do boating until about dark and then we'll either have a salad or sometimes we just order something delivered.

I have to admit breakfast has never been my favorite meal, I always felt it was wasted calories, but since being banded I see the importance of the Protein. I wish you the best and please stay in touch.

Amen! If Im not hungry (only in the morning), I dont eat!

I make up for it during the afternoon hours though...

Why is that??? In the morning it is so hard to eat but later in the day the food seems to have no trouble going down. I wish it was the other way around. It'd be better not to eat at night. It's one of those quirky band things.:devious

Becky, I am exactly like you If I eat breakfast I am more hungary than when I do not. However, on those days I have to have breakfast I will eat a banana and peanut butter or a yogurt. I am usually really tight in the am as well>

I'm with HarleyNaNa, I'm lucky to get in a 1/2 cup of coffee before late afternoon most days. Anything I eat gets stuck and makes me very uncomfortable, my window tends to open from early afternoon to early evening, then close again, I can't eat or drink late in the evenings because my restriction increases as I get tired. My work schedule plays havoc with my band, because I work part-time weekends, 7p to 7a at a job that's an hour away, then live dayshift all week. It's hard to get around the need to eat very late on weekends... generally I eat before I go to work, but sometimes that's the only meal I can get in, because early in my shift I'm too busy, then later I'm too restricted...

Pam, that seems to be a good thing, to be tighter at night, most of us are much more open after dark, LOL. Sounds like you've got a very busy schedule, don't forget to take time for you! WOW on the fills, everytime I get a fill I have to go back and have part taken out, I have the smaller band though.

I seem to be just opposite from most bandsters; I have to eat Breakfast, but am very tight at night - possibly from the stress of work all day and because it's very hot in my house when I get home. I like microwaved eggs on weekends, with some cheese; I just got my first fill three days ago and am trying to figure out how to get lots of Protein in for breakfast. powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury shakes may be a good idea.

Any other ideas for high protein breakfasts on weekdays?
