July 9, 200818 yr OK, I'm no prude and I understand that everyone "farts", but in the past 3-4 days, I'm worse than a teenage boy! I even worry about getting out of my chair quickly that one will sneak out. Is this temporary?
July 9, 200818 yr Hee Hee, I am right there with you!!!!!! Since the lapband I have been taking benefiber, so maybe that explains it. I have always been very discreet when it comes to that and it is embarassing to say the least. Maybe it will get better. mama59:embaressed_smile:
July 9, 200818 yr I was banded June 26th and am still just farting away LOL all day and all night! i think its the gas they put in us for surgery, also i use non fat milk in my protein shakes so i think that might have something to do with it also
July 10, 200818 yr Man Im not even going to go there, loud violent farts all in the middle of the night, waking up the house, never had I had so much gas. UGGH.
July 10, 200818 yr I wonder when does it finally go away LOL im not tryin to be single forever LOL I'm sorry I had to LOL at that one!! I am sure they will go away. July 25, 200818 yr Oh, great. I'm naturally pretty gassy, so after surgery I guess I'll be a Saturn rocket!
July 26, 200817 yr Hi: It's been 4 days for me, and I have the same thing. To be truthful, I pray for the farts, so the pain goes away some. thoughi I was the only one. No one ever spoke of this in support groups. Now I realize that everyone was to busy talking about their post opt serguries. To me this is very real and hurts.Norad10
July 26, 200817 yr It helps to get the gas out and yes, it does go away. Just be careful because when you think it's only gas coming out it might be something else. Luckily no one else was home when that happened to me.
July 27, 200817 yr I am two years out. The first six week I found I was quite gassy. After that, things pretty much returned to normal.
July 27, 200817 yr I'm 4 months out & STILL crop dusting on a very regular basis. Night time? Good lord....Our bedroom sounds like a bombing range! Will this ever stop!?!? What causes it?
July 29, 200817 yr I was also told the milk can make you gasy. I am 8 days out, and the gas is with me. norad10
July 29, 200817 yr 8 months out and I'm still gassey. It's gotten to be a joke now. My huband just laughs and says stuff like: "Is that toad back again????" or "Uh oh.... You stepped on the duck?" I tell him "It wasn't me!" We both look around the corner and laugh...... In my case it didn't go away. I now also burp like a sailor. I may LOOK more lady like now, but I certainly don't burp like one!!!! LOL On certain occasions, the gas is so bad it hurts and I can't seem to pass it. My doctor said that some people just naturally swallow more air when eating or talking. If I get a big gas build up from certain foods, I have to take GasX to be comfortable again. It works like a miracle in those instances.
