A Date has been set

I finally received a surgery date. The doctor here is so busy he is already booking into July. So my pre-op is July 10 and my surgery is July 24. They say I'll go home that day. I also have to do a 2 week liquid diet prior, with clear liquids the day before. Oh well, going to have to buckle down and do it. I think I can do this. I've never been on an all liquid diet before or any type of fast. In a book that I read on bariatric surgery(mainly gastric-bypass) the womans motto was "Nothing tastes as good as thin feels." That may be mine too. Just one day at a time. I can't wait to know that every summer, I can wear the shorts that I wore last year, that is unless there too big. I have never been able to wear the same summer or fall shorts/pants from season to season. :cursing:I have 5 sizes of shorts (all denim) that I have saved for the last 15 years. Just hoping that someday, I could wear them again. And now that time is finally arriving. Yaay me!!!:smile2:My surgery is scheduled exactly 1 year and 1 day after my first consultation. July seems like a long way away, but it'll probably fly by. Just thought I would share. Susan

Hi Susan and welcome to LBT! I am so excited for you on getting a date, that is wonderful news.

The pre-op liquid diet can be tough, but you just have to keep your eye on the prize, which is your band and a road to a healthier you.

Good luck and keep us posted on how you are doing.

Congrats on getting a date and welcome to LBT!! I still waiting for mine to get approved so I can get a surgery date. Right now my doc is scheduled til beginning of May so I'm hoping by June I'll have a new birthday "LAP BAND SURGERY DAY" to start my new life. Good luck to you and stay in touch.

I just read the book you are speaking of. I found it very interesting, but frustersting because she had the RNY. Do you know of any books that focus more on the band? I first heard the quote in weight watchers. I am hoping the band will help me to really remember that nothing tastes as good as thin feels. Best of luck to you!
