Hi Angie, at this point my advice would be to read as much as possible, be extremely well prepared! Do TONS of research, know what you are looking at, and what questions to ask!

Check out your Dr. and the hospital----just BE PREPARED!

I don't mean that, like it is a hard thing---but it does take work, and commitment to getting healthy!

This is a great site to get some wonderful information!!!

Welcome!

Kat

I'm new too. I also am going to have the surgery in the next 2-3 monthes. I want to do it, but my husband is not very supportive.

Hey Angie... My name is Angela Marie, too! haha. I haven't been banded yet, but I agree, you should just do as much research as possible...read read read, and talk to people who have had it done.

i AM DUE TO BE BANDED IN 3 DAYS. I WEIGHTED 206 POUNDS AT THE START ALSO AND NOW i AM DOWN TO 194. IALSO HAVE NOT MUCH SUPPORT FROM HUSBAND, FAMILY OR FRIENDS. i HAVE BEEN USING THIS SITE TO KEEP ME GOING

Hi! I have my consult planned on March 12th and I also weigh right in your bracket (203). I'm going stir crazy waiting for my appointment date to get here. I have read and studied so much... now its just to get on with it!! My insurance will not cover this surgery so its all on me but I really think its so worth it. ;) Did any of you have trouble getting approved? Someone told me that they want you to be at least 100lbs overweight to even have the surgery??? I will be crushed if I dont get approved. I've battled my weight all my life...

Hugs! Connie
