My surgery was June 12th. I went to Beaumont Hospital in Riverview MI. Had a few complications and ended up staying there for 5 days. I'm home and feeling a little better. I just hope the negative issues resolve. My cousin suggested I think of it like childbirth. You have a baby and swear that you will never do that again. The following year you forget about the pain and do it all over again with another child. I'll wait 6 months before I decide if this was the right decision for me.

I feel old at 55 doing this. I went straight for the DS surgery because I want results and don’t want to go back for more weight loss surgeries (skin removal is a possibility). I definitely don’t want to do that again. I had complications after my surgery on the 14th. I was in the hospital an extra 3 days. I didn’t want to post and scare anyone but I’m a week out from surgery now and doing much better. I just need to figure out my eating/drinking schedule since they can’t be done within 30 minutes of each other.
I am super excited for the results. From max weight before the pre-surgery diet to now, I’m down 25 pounds!!!

My new best friend since I’m struggling with swallowing pills, especially since I’m not supposed to “gulp” water!

I'm so happy that you are home doing a lot better.

Just finished week one post VSG. Are we supposed to lose weight the first week?

Apparently not everyone does. I’m in that category. According to my nutritionist and doctor, your body is in shock and is prob still retaining water. My doc said that some ppl don’t start losing weight until weeks later. So my advice would be to put away the scale and continue following the stages. That’s what I’ve decided to do.

I’m 2 days in to my 2nd week post op and I still have gurgling after I eat, anybody else have that? Still trying to figure out the full feeling it’s not the normal feeling.

I still have it and I'm day 10 I was just saying that I'll be glad when that hunger feeling go away and the gurgling it's weird. Everytime I eat something cold I feel it all the way down. Warm stuff don't feel weird

Yea I’m always nervous people can hear it. I wonder how long it last for? At least I’m not alone. Thanks Carla. Also has anybody’s mouth taste weird or always dry?

My surgery is in a couple hours and I'm about to head to the hospital. Wish me luck! Pray for me... lol.

Thank you, I'll do that!

@Carla Ogwin Girl I’m happy I’m not alone lol I was scared to mention it since I haven’t seen anybody talk about the taste in their mouth. I hope that goes away.

@TRClark23 Good luck today. On the first day set timers to walk every hour. It helps. U will be exhausted and just want to sleep but walk walk walk.
