Last night I was made aware of an app called Yuka. Apparently you can scan a barcode of any food and it will tell you whether or not its a good or bad choice. A snip from the app page says.............

"Yuka is a free mobile app that allows you to scan the barcodes of food and personal care products and instantly see their impact on your health. A rating and detailed information help you understand the analysis of each product. When a product has a negative impact on your health, Yuka also recommends similar but healthier alternative products."

Like I said, I ONLY just found out about it last night and downloaded it. Only scanned a few items in the house here so far. Thankfully they listed as "Excellent" choices. LOL

Now, it's not specific to Bariatric Patients but I still think this could come in handy for many of us. Check it out if you want.

There is a bariatric one that does the same and made for bariatric patients. I started using mine on the liquid stage and it counted down to surgery day now it counts out how many days since surgery and what I lost the month on liquids preop, what I’ve lost post op plus the combined loss it’s pretty awesome!

Which app is that? I started using the Baritastic one months ago but it doesn't seem to tell you what foods are good or better options like the one above. Just logs food, weight, etc.

That's interesting and good to know, especially since it's free.

But... good or bad is RELATIVE. I mean, some things about cheese are GOOD - high in Calcium and Protein, while others are BAD - high in fat and saturated fat. Plus, people have different opinions about things.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
