Preop Acid reflux?

Hi! I have surgery tomorrow morning (06/23). i started my preop diet of the protein shakes yesterday and i've been feeling some mild acid reflux and am unsure if it's actually normal or if I might just be getting reflux from all my nerves- i haven't even had a full nights sleep for a week now due to my anxiety of the procedure - anyone else experience something like this before surgery and it turn out ok? I'm really scared to go in tomorrow ?

Hi! I'm 2 days post op and everything is killing me, but at least I don't have reflux so I guess it was just nerves after all haha -

anxiety before a major surgery is pretty common. I don't know about the reflux part of it, though - but that could be.

Protien drinks can be dairy heavy...and some people get a little acid from too much dairy. Likely your nerves are doing a number on your digestion.

Take a minute and breathe. You got this. You've been working and preparing for a long time. You look young and healthy. Surgery should go great!

Do some things to take your mind off obsessing about it. Watch some funny shows, read a book, do an activity that you enjoy that occupies your brain.

You're gonna be fine. Best wishes!

My reflux used to be aggravated by stress so your anxiety could be contributing.

It’s understandable that you’re worried but do try to remember the positives of why you’re doing this. As @Creekimp13 suggested, do try to find something to distract you from any negative thoughts you are having about your surgery.

It will be so worth it.
