Back issues since losing weight?

Good afternoon! Had VSG December 2, 2019 - have since lost a total of 140 lbs. - with another 5lbs to goal weight - thankfully! In the last 5 months I’ve been experiencing ongoing back pain - especially when I’ve been on my feet a good amount throughout the day. I think my back doesn’t know how to adjust with all this weight loss?

Have you noticed back pain since losing weight? If so, how are you finding relief?

Thank you for mentioning this because I’ve noticed I get back pain when standing up for extended periods of time. I’ve only lost 100 lbs but my theory is that my weight distribution has changed and I’m still hunched over from a larger stomach that isn’t there anymore.

Ugh, I had terrible back AND hip pain starting around 1 month post op and it lasted for a few months (maybe 2-3 months if I remember correctly). I too chalked it up to my bones and musculature adjusting to the weight loss. It went away eventually...hoping yours does too ❤️

Consider asking for a referral from your PCP to physical therapy. I had back pain too, turns out my gait was all wonky. A couple months of PT had me pain free.

Thanks all for your replies and suggestions. I’ll give my PCP a try and see what she says.
