Skin/Red Face 11 days post op

Recommended Posts

My skin on my face is angry. I have always tried to take care of my skin as best I could but since the surgery my face is just awful. I plan on mentioning this to my surgeon tomorrow at my post op appointment, but has anybody ever had these issues? Skin on my face is red and burning and flaking. I am moisturizing. I had never heard of this but someone else recently posted about having a red, inflamed face and chest. She said her bariatric team referred to it as a "Sleeve blush" and apparently it's not uncommon. I'd definitely mention it to the surgeon and see what he/she says.

Somebody else in the last two weeks called it "sleeve blush" and said her surgeon's office told her it was semi-common. I had never heard of it before. I don't think it's anything to worry about, probably just annoying, but you can check with your doctor tomorrow for sure. I never had it.

sometimes dehydration an cause a person to flush and become red and splotchy and angry. It seems a little off but think about when a baby is sick and dehydrated, how red and dry their little faces get, same with adults. Are you getting enough fluids?

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
