At this rate if I keep losing like this I will go under my BMI... (I wasn't too far from it to begin with).... can insurance deny surgery if I go under the 35 BMI during preop diet?

Typically your insurance will go by what your BMI was prior to the program, or whatever it was when you started. I would check with your insurance and your doctor's office to see how they do their report.

Your doctor's office doesn't need to submit anything other than the bill once it's been approved. You should be good to go, even if your BMI dips slightly below their minimum.

I would think they stick with what your BMI was when they approved the surgery and don't recheck again.

Ask your team this question. I’ve read different answers on this. I was really nervous because I was just barely qualifying by weight. I clarified and was able to lose weight after my 5 required weigh ins. Pre op didn’t count against me.
