  • It might sound crazy, but I intend to eat it with a spoon! Once we're able to tolerate more solid foods, I'm interested in making this Indian flatbread to have with it: Sweet Potato Chapati |

I am allowed deli meat at this stage, so I took a piece of thin smoked turkey and spread some hummus on it rolled up. I also did what others are saying....just ate it with a spoon:)

  • In an air fryer or oven, can make cheddar cheese crisps in a few minutes (use parchment paper), and dip them in hummus. Yum! I ate those for forever lol.

I was allowed cheese very early on due to it being easy to chew and swallow.

Awesome!

Can you explain how to make cheese crisps?

There are recipes online but the one I use is I pre heat oven to 400F, put little small heaps of shredded cheese. Like 24 little piles, separated from each other cause they spread out as they melt. I always use parchment paper. I once used aluminum foil, and that was mess lol. Bake in pre-heated oven until golden brown, about 6 to 7 minutes. Let it cool for 10 minutes before eating. They keep very well in a sealed container.

I'm so scared of parchment paper in the oven! Its started on fire the last time I used it. If I overcome my fear I will try this!

I think a silicone baking mat will work.

Yesterday I tried a teaspoon of hummus on top of my cottage cheese and it was surprisingly tasty. It's also quite good with the chopped boiled egg.

You can have pasta, and the better way to make it a little bit healthier with some veggies thrown i. I've tried a couple so far like mushrooms, bell peppers, and cherry tomatoes with cheese.

I'm nowhere close to surgery, but what about those baby type crackers that basically dissolve? Someone on YouTube recommended them, but I'm not sure if they'd be allowed or if it'd too many carbs, or whatever. I'm curious for when I get to the stage.

Too many carbs and empty calories unfortunately.

What about deviled eggs with hummus? I saw a recipe on another post-I intend to try it

Oh I seen that recipe too. Looks yummy. I want to try it also.

I think the ‘no’ on crackers is more to do that it sticks together once in your pouch and can cause a clog. I would agree sticking to straight up hummus is better.
What else are you having ? I start soft on three days
