Getting ready

I'm scheduled for surgery November 18th. I started my 3 day clear liquid diet today in preparation for my surgery. Is it normal to only have 3 days ? also I'm curious what others drink on their clear liquid diet before surgery. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Every surgeon has different requirements for pre & post surgery plans. So there is no right or wrong requirement as long as it’s on the plan you were given.

Broths or consommé are your best bet for clear liquids. Your surgeon &/or nutritionalist should have given you a list of recommended foods for pre & post surgery. If they didn’t, give them a call, & ask for some guidance.

Good luck with your surgery.

Herbal tea, broth, diet jello (any color but red or orange) any sugar free beverage, broth.

Good luck!!
