Stopped losing weight on Optifast

Good morning,

I go in for MGB on Thursday this week. I've been on the shakes for 11 days but only lost 8 lbs. I did cheat with one pizza crust and some potato chips. (just this in the 11 days) I drink more than enough water throughout the day. I am getting scared that if 'm not losing on Optifast, what if I don't lose anything after surgery? Has anyone else gone through this? Is this normal? I've seen where other people have lost twice this in the same amount of time.

P.S. I lost 11 lbs in my liquid pre-op diet (which was for 2 weeks). I ended up losing more than 1/2 my total body weight.

  • 2 weeks later...
I used shakes on and off for years and I’m petite build 5’1” and I have a hard time loosing on them. I loose the first 10 easily but after that it’s a real struggle. I lost maybe 6 pounds on my 2 week liquid diet. I had bypass on 7/16 and I’m down 22lbs! 42 with my presurgery loss.
