I never wore it after WLS (but i did after plastic surgery), but I would think after your incisions have healed up and your scabs are gone (which takes around four weeks), you should be OK to start wearing it. But you might want to confirm with your clinic.

I am a little over 6 weeks out and I know this is weird but I workout in shapewear. Not necessarily Spanx but I have a non name brand panty girdle (i'm ol' skool) I got it from Catherine's. If I workout without the panty girdle, my stomach is on hang time. My incisions have healed and I first wore it about 4 weeks out.

Nah, not weird (i think, lol). I work out with an “abdominal binder” too, one that is geared for exercise. It also helps with back support with lifting, I find.
