Water Weight After Surgery?

The morning I went into surgery, I weighed 216.

When I went to the doctor three days later, I weight 216.3.

I have literally been only drinking water and protein.

I don't see how this is possible, other than water weight.

Has this happened to anyone else and they started showing sliding numbers later?

I weighed about 3 kg more for several days after surgery. Greetings from the i. v. fluids. ;)

I'll send my regards with a fruit basket. ?

Thanks, that does help!

yes - it's the IV fluids. They pump you full of them when you're in the hospital. Among other electrolytes, there's sodium in those, which makes a lot of us hold on to water. I've heard of people coming out of the hospital up to 10 lbs heavier than when they went in. It'll work its way out of your system - but it could take a few days.
