I'm really worried. Is this normal?

Recommended Posts

I had surgery on the 18th. Every time I eat, I have shudders or waves of pain. Everyone else seems to be pain free by this point and not suffering when they eat.

Thoughts? I really hope I don't have complications.

Sorry to hear you are going through a rough time. Are you still on liquids, if so, what liquids and at what volumes? If not, what foods are you consuming and at what volumes?

Have you touched base with your surgeon regarding the pain?

I'm doing 2-4oz an hour. Clear liquid still. Not cleared for full liquid, yet. No food of course. I'll meet with a post-surgical NP tomorrow.

It is pretty normal for your stage. Find a temp that works best for you. I found warm liquids or room temp liquids went down easier for me. Also vary the viscosity with Water drops? Try ice chips, popsicles, etc.

Sorry you're having a rough patch!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
