I wasn't nervous. I was ready to get it over with. I'm 30 days post op today and absolutely have no regrets. Your mileage may will vary, but think about the future, the reasons why you're doing this.

Well, to start I will be praying for you. Second, I am not sure there is a way to completely calm your nerves. However, also know that you are starting an AMAZING lifelong journey!!

Good luck!!

Thank you !

I wasn't nervous. I was ready to get it over with. I'm 30 days post op today and absolutely have no regrets. Your mileage may will vary, but think about the future, the reasons why you're doing this. In the grand scheme of things - the surgery is the easy part. The pre-op diet, the approval process, the decision to see a bariatric surgeon are the hardest part of this journey.

As soon as you feel able, get up. Stand. Walk. Walk some more. Then keep walking. You'll feel a lot better. Good luck.

My son was with me so that was refreshing. I also had an amazing medical team who eased my mind. You will do find, as this journey is the beginning of many possibilities.

Good luck and wishing you an easy surgery.

Tell jokes when you get into the operating room. It helps.

Want an old-time semi- groaner joke? Guy wakes up from his surgery. When his surgeon comes on rounds, he says" Doctor I kind of expected the sore throat with knowing you put an endotrachael tube down there. I even expected the upper abdominal tenderness but why do I have such pain down in my Right Groin?" Surgeon just laughs , then says " I got such a standing ovation from the residents and other people in the Operating Theatre, I took out your appendix as an Encore! It's still okay, Your consent covered it, said" Whatever I found Necessary" and I'm not charging EXTRA for IT !"
