Go to user cp and then look at whos online and it tells you who is here and what they are doing.

Wow, that's weird! My guess is that it's an automated web search thingy that Google uses, but they're usually not visible to the users of a forum. Maybe Google is trying to be aboveboard--what a cool thing that would be.

Spiders are little programs that search the web (get it?) and are used by search engine companies to compile their indexes and search results. If you think about it, Google probably has millions of these little guys all over the web at any given moment. I'm not surprised it's here, but I am surprised we can see it.

Great information Alex!

Ive seen the google spider on our user list as well and wondered the same thing.

Thank again!

New to me never seen it before. Checked out the user cp on who's on line pretty cool never new that ..

Hmmmm.....maybe I'm just dense, but when I go to user cp I don't see anything to tell me who's on line or what they are looking at.

Go to quicklinks, then scroll close to the bottom and click who's online.

Ew! Ew! I saw it! Actually, when I read the first post I thought I got caught, like maybe I was the google spider because I've been reading all of your profiles just to see who I'm talking to and where you are and your weight loss, etc. Got me a little paranoid, as if I was doing something wrong! Glad I wasn't. Ya'll can read my profile too if you want...it would make me feel better...hehe

Kathy, too funny! The profiles are really helpful. I read the profiles to learn about someone before I post to them. It just was weird that Google was reading us, but wasn't listed as a member. I didn't understand how it worked until Alexandra explained it.
