Anyone take this medication pre or post op? Experiences? Side effects? Weight fluctuations?

No it is a Bipolar I medication, useful during manic phases. And no I am not Bipolar I, I am just a Medi-Geek. And WE,know all kinds of interesting things!

It's also prescribed for other mental health concerns besides Bipolar disorder. But I don't care to disclose my personal struggle in that regard. But I know a lot of folks on here struggle with various forms of mental health concerns so thought I'd ask! My doc did say it's relatively new!

Not at all, it made me giggle And I wasn't offended necessarily by the other individual, but it did kind of make it sound like that's all it's used for when I think pretty much everyone knows these types of medicines can be helpful in a variety of diagnoses. Don't want ya'll thinking I'm flying off the deep end

I might end up calling my surgeon's office just to clear it with their nurses/him. The prescribing doc is thrilled about my sleeve, but admittedly doesn't know a lot about it!

Also, you can call your pharmacist and they can look up the pH and coating on the pill and tell you whether it's pH sensitive, water soluble, oil soluble, quick activating, etc. They did that for me with letrozole to make sure I could absorb my cancer drug. Hope it works without needing another script!! ((hugs))
