I had my surgery yesterday in Istanbul (I'm an American living in Turkey) and I think I've gotten through the worst of it recovery wise. It was more pain than i had anticipated but looking back i think my expectations were a little unrealistic. It was also my first time having any kind of surgery. My best advice is bring some audio books or podcasts if you can, that really helped distract me from the pain and put my mind at ease the first night because my eyes were too tired to read the books I brought [emoji4]
Thanks for the advice, I plan on bringing my laptop and do some bing watching of Rick and Morty season 3 in between my walks and sips[emoji4]. This is also my first time having surgery, so it's kinda freaking me out a bit. I too think that I am thinking unrealistically about the pain that I will encounter, but I am strong and I know that the pain will eventually go away. So I implanted the words "suck it up" in my brain, because I know that this will all be worth it at the end.

HI, I am having surgery this week on Thursday. Today I started my liquid diet, I am doing ok with it. I am super excited as well to start this new healthy journey. Hope everything goes well for you. Please keep in touch. I am new to this site and I love to see all the answers to questions I have to ask. God Bless

I have noticed in addition to the this-weekers there is a ganggoozele of people having theirs done July 2nd, must be a bunch of surgeons's wanted them. done and over so they could spend the 4th of July with their own families. I wonder if there are Canadian surgeon's doingbtheirs on June b 30th so they can take Dominion Day off? And then French ones who want Bastille Day off in Mid-July? Aussies and New Zealanders, did you have yours changed because of Anzac Day?
I’m getting sleeved tomorrow morning. Two weeks on a liquid diet has me down 24lbs.
I’m physically and mentally ready, although still have some of those pre op jitters.
I’m on June 28th as well for bypass! Wishing everyone a speedy recovery!

I am also new as well, I will most likely post the day after the surgery to let everyone know how it went. I don't mind keeping in touch[emoji5]

Awesome, I got a bit of the jitters myself. I only had to go on a liquid diet for 24 hours, which was basically the whole day today and tomorrow b4 the surgery. Have you drink your magnesium citrate drink yet? I have and it got my stomach rumbling, lol

Seriously, I think we need a June 28th forum to check in with each other because there are so many of us!
