I have had severe siatica in my left leg and have been taking Gabapentin (Neurotin) for 2 years. It controls the pain and tingling in my leg but I’m left with significant loss of strength in my leg. The neurosurgeon won’t do surgery until I’m down to 250. I just had a sleeve 10 days ago. He thinks that significant weight loss may resolve the whole situation and thus need for surgery. Anyone else had their similar situation be fixed by their weight loss?

Thanks. I’m hoping my weight loss will resolve my need for back surgery!! But I just had the sleeve 13 days ago and I’m down 25. Maybe once I’m down 50 or 75 or 100?

I am curious about whether patients are normally given a catheter during surgery. I’m a 53 year old guy having the sleeve done in 5 days. I have a giant fear of catheters.

I had a sleeve on June 28. It seems there is various protocol out there regarding what you are allowed during the first 2 weeks. I am told only liquid.

I just had the sleeve on Thursday. I should know this but - how long do I need to crush pills or cut pills? 3 months crushed?

I am having a sleeve this Thursday. I weigh 365 lbs. i am reading that I will need 70-90 grams of protein. Anyone know exactly the amount needed? Maybe there is a formula.
