I feel so down

I had my sleeve on June 1st and have only lost 10 pounds since then. I lost 8 pounds on the pre op diet for a total loss of 18 pounds. I am 48 years old. I read all the time about how the weight is just falling off other people but it’s not for me. I am always hungry. I can eat about 3/4 cup of soup with no problem. I drink my water and protein. I’m starting to think that my surgeon didn’t cut enough of my stomach. I feel like I’ve made the biggest mistake of my life.

Thank you all so much for the support and good advice. It’s like being part of a big family, one person gives you a hug while another smacks you upside the head and you realize you badly needed both l

Take heart! It's still early in the process. You may still have a lot of swelling. That's different for everyone and some people just heal faster. It can take weeks for all the swelling to go down. Al

I'm in week 10. My body is changing(losing inches) but that stubborn scale refuses to get with the program, lol. My daily calories are 500-600 so each day I expect to lose this astronomical amount of weight but the sleeve does what the sleeve wants to do. I have to do my due diligence and most importantly be patient...and everything will fall into place. My biggest problem right now is I'm issues with my back. The flare ups are more frequent. I have DDD in the cervical/lumbar but I don't remember it being this bad. I thought the weight loss would ease the pain.

I am exactly where you are. Every time I eat 4 oz of puréed food without issue I think. “Oh no this isn’t working for me”. I had my surgery May 28 and I have lost only 12 pounds since surgery day. I’m trying to stay positive and make smart choices. It’s 12 more pounds than I lost last year!

@ Brassapple no mistake, you are shiny. Remember our Basal Metabolism isn't in overdrive like these youngins, they are set on varoom, you and I are more like chug chug, we still are going to get there, we are in it for the long haul not" flashes in the pan". Keep on keeping on, do the right things the way Doctor, said you should. It is going to pay off, I swear we will have more stalls than they do. Remember your body was perfectly happy blumping along and then you had surgery and messed up,its happy self. It's getting its revenge by making you work harder for,it. But you are a class act and you are going to make it, no matter what else comes up!
Are you feeli,g any better @ Brassapple? And MissTee I hope your DDD starts to let up some so you can heal better. And mikealkay, keep,on with your preop planning and soon you and I will be joining these fine ladies in the Victory Lane. Do you, have an estimation of when your surgery will be?❤?❤

Heat Advisiory in my area today so staying inside with the AC. I know people complain they hate the gloom and snow of Winter, but is there anyone out there that feels Summer drags them down?

Everybody who lives in Texas!

Funny I thought cactus and scorpions and bad things were farther west like, hmmm , Arizona? I thought Texas was the land of milk & honey, ooops. that could be Utah. Maybe you are right after all!

When we first moved here we couldn't imagine what made the pioneers stop and settle. Our initial thought was that their wagon axle broke. But we moved here more than 40 years ago, so I've pretty much gotten used to it.

So your station wagon axle broke, they couldn't send replacement parts to,a P.O.,Box # and you're still, stranded there? Got,it!?

Nah, I'm just too cheap to move anywhere with higher property tax or a state income tax!

Yeah bu5 you do have community property there, keep Mr Dragons scales nice and shiny. I always remember Ron White,on Blue Collar Comedy your saying other, states ate trying to abolish the death penalty, in. Texas you have an express lane. Gosh I so like that frame of mind. Also think, its neat T3xas has its own power grid, you are not interlaced with,Me poor mortals. Plus.if. they parachuted me into Texas your state is big I'm sure I could find somewhere to put down roots at.

We have our own power grid? That's news to me!

Trust me, I am very happy with 8lbs in the first week. But I have been stalled since from day 7 post op to now. I haven't read of people stalling so soon. But I am tellling myself that I am am just getting the infamous 3 week stall 2 weeks early so I won't have to go through it then. Fingers crossed! lol

I'm 3 weeks in and haven't lost in over a week. You are not alone. Stay positive!
