Im having my surgery on July 19,2018. Just wondering if any one else is having their surgery in July? Just want someone to talk to about the stress of surgery and excitement

so how is everyone doing?! today is 5 days post op - I was able to add back protein today and my tummy thanked me. fluids have been going down so much better today, I may even reach my 64oz. I have yet to reach since surgery! counting down the days until I get to do soft foods....I really want to just chew something!! haha.

I am also 5 days post op feeling alot better. Still sore but not alls much. I tried yogurt but but did sit well. But having 2 premier protein shakes, drinking water and poweraid, then have a bit of soup for lunch and dinner. Tried vitamins this morning and they made me sick so going to try different one tomorrow. Also went to a short outing to the store sitting and driving is a bit hard because is so sore in the incision. Good luck everyone and keep the great work. Any advice for vitamins, food choices etc. I'll take.it.

Had mine July 23rs

Hi everyone!! I'm one week out and doing great!! I can't believe the difference these past few days. It feels like all of a sudden my stomach started to work again and now I can drink much more than I was a few days ago!! I started on pureed today, which for me is cottage cheese consistency. I'm retraining myself that I need food to live, not live for food :)

How is everyone else doing??

Thanks :)

Any advice for staying on the liquid stage longer ? I’m trying to stay for the full 3 weeks instead of 2 but I’m already bored of EVERYTHING, craving substance and flavor lol

I was sleeved on 7/24. Since first appointment I'm down 34 lbs. Since surgery last week, I'm down 18!!

And July is just about, over, IS EVERYBODY HEALTHY? Hope to hear more victories as time goes on!

How long are you on liquids post op? I ate popscicles, yogurt mixed with soy milk, creamed soups mixed with extra soy milk and put through a blender, snowballs (chopped ice) with sugar free syrup,

When I was allowed full liquids I had plain SF yogart and watered it down with flavored protein water. I use Protein2o. I also would simmer bone broth, add whatever spices I liked and put in carrots and onions. When the carrots were soft I blended them and the onions and added the liquid. Add protein to it and it counts towards your daily total.

Surgery is done (7/30) was released earlier today. Will say that morphine pump was amazing, except that I got a little itchy from it. I sit here writing this waking up from a few hours sleep. The pain is real, but I think its just gas. I didnt have much in my shoulder but I can feel it from time to time. Have my plasmaflow boots on right now for circulation of the calves probably going to do laps in my kitchen until my family members come over and flip the switch on my treadmill, cant reach it and certainly not with the gas bubble in my side or my drain. I actually have a drain and its right in between the "girls". Really want this to come out but it will come out in a week. Pain Meds: Acetaminop-Codiene (liquid 15ML) I have an RX for muscle relaxers too which Ill end up filling soon enough. Sipping on my water while taking my meds. In a little bit im going to water down a protein supplement and sip on that too. I cant wait to get past the gas phase and just general pain. How fast was your pain gone everyone? about a week? couple of days? Throat is a bit sore too from the anesthesia and oxygen tube. ACK
