2nd Day Post-Op

Good morning ladies and gents!

It is hard to believe I am on my second day post op! I am thrilled to say that I am doing well. No complications have cropped up yet. In fact if the wounds on my belly didn't hurt a tad, I would swear I didn't even have the surgery! I have had no trouble getting fluids or protein down. In fact its 6:46am and I've already logged 20oz of fluid and 10g of protein today.

In fact, I was a bit concerned, like many others, who could consume more than they thought. Yesterday, my first "meal" consisted of 1 cup of chicken broth that I was able to consume in its entirety of 45 minutes, and I truly felt it was my own obsessive pacing that allowed it to stretch for that long. I then followed that up with 8oz of water about 30 mins later over the course of an hour.

I did notice more restriction when I had lunch and started sampling different protein shakes, greet yogurt and pudding. However I still felt like I was able to eat more than I should have been able to. I mean don't get me wrong, I am NOT complaining at all. Being able to consume that much has made it easier for me. I've had more energy to walk, and don't feel exhausted. I attribute to the reduced pain to this as well.

The tummy gurgling though... its wicked funny. My stomach was always silent. Now it chatting all day!

I hope my fellow May 14ers are having as easy of a time!

You've heard the term" baited breath" well I'm reading this all with baited eyes, I think this telling is more worthy of filing than the 2nd hand instructions from surgeons, they,May have studied,it but you girls have and are living it.
I probably will be trying to sip, but I'll go teaspoon by teaspoon, if it is mandated by own condition. This does not frighten me, I instead realize the hightened awareness needed. As I read I only say a prayer at each line.
I found this in this in the Notes, Observations and Prayers section of my Weight Loss Journal'-'might be Psalms, Proverbs or somewhere else,in the Bible
My health may fail and my spirit go weak but God remains the strength of my heart, He is Mine forever.
Love. ❤Hugs. Prayers? for all of You

Well to give you guys an update, had to go to the ER yesterday cause I was vomiting uncontrolably. Haven’t had a bowel movement since before my surgery. The doctors order a CT and it seems my intestines are semi paralyzed. So I was admitted again. Haven’t had anything to drink since yesterday. Feeling hungry and grumpy but no pain. Don’t know when they are letting me go. At least I had a good night sleep since my surgery. Trying to stay positive but this has been really hard for me.

Hope you recover quickly. I got sleeved tjis Monday and when I got home, it was horrible. I couldn't keep nothing down. Srill no bowel movement but I don't feel bloated. I have to say today i feel a whole lot better than I did one the 2nd and 3rd day. PS i took a sip of mint tea. It helped settle my tummy. Keep us posted and feel better soon.
