Almonds? cheese crisps? Crunchy is hard to get from Protein sometimes.

Nuts--I prefer cashews or pistachios, myself. You have to be a ways down the line for this, but beef Jerky works. Yummy. Yogurt (I know, not crunchy at all). I do some carbs, so cheese and crackers. A friend gave me some Medifast products, so I also have high-protein pretzel sticks and crunch bars (for what it's worth, I like the Peanut Butter ones, the chocolate mint ones, not so much--there's an artificial flavor I can't get past). But it's good to have a crunchy, high-protein, 110-calorie snack on hand.

I'm afraid to try almonds yet. My pouch is so small (according to what I can eat) that I'm afraid it's still pretty swollen. I've heard that nuts are one of the more difficult foods to process. But, I'll keep that in mind for later. Is there a brand of cheese crisps that you like?

Thank you! I'll need to wait a while for the nuts, but the others are good ideas.

I make roasted Chick Peas and they are delicious. If you want a crunch, this is it! Here's a link on different ways to spice them!

I think you might be able to eat it if you prep it. Take the edge of your knife and catch a strip of celery. Pull it down to remove the outer layers that contain the major strings. You're left with tender, inner celery that has an almost cucumber texture. Make sure to remove the entire outer skin and strings on the stalk. :D Or you can peel it with a veg peeler, but this can be a little trickier.

Then chew like hell! :D And if you have any strings in your mouth after chewing and swallowing the apple sauce, just spit em out! :D

When in doubt, spit it out!!!

I usually just KISS to keep me from adding about 200 cals of unintended food for the day. This happens especially with crunchies. So I will add a boiled egg, or Hillshire Farms Naturals meat (ham or turkey=3sl for 50cals).

But if I MUST, then I make cheese crackers from a 1/2slice of 2% Kraft American Cheese, and make some vitacost Peanut Butter Slim into peanut butter and have cheesy peanut butter crackers for about 50cals. They taste close to Ritz Bitz.

I also get the Parmesan Crisps from Sam's and have 5 pieces with a slice of HSFN meat.

I also do Lite Laughing Cow with RBP or Cucumbers that I toss in Claussen Dill Pickle Vinegar. The white cheddar and smoked gouda are good this way.

I also use a couple of Pork rinds and dip Fluffernutter into it. I make Fluffernutter with equal parts Vitacost PB Slim and some WF marshmallow dip. Mix like hell. Then eat with a pork rind or two. Super low like about 50cals of snack there and cures a cookie snack attack.

Sometimes I use 5 Quest Protein chips + 1/4c of either turkey taco meat or 1/8c turkey taco meat + 1/8c charro, black, or refried Beans. This is a much bigger "snack" and has a big calorie cost to it--more like a meal but satisfying and sadly--addicting.

I appreciate all the tips! Unfortunately, I think I spoke too soon. Right now, my stomach isn't tolerating any Protein other than liquid/yogurt without it feeling like I swallowed a handful of rocks :(

I'm sorry to hear this. Hope you're feeling better soon! Maybe you need to go to clear Protein Drinks and Water for a couple of days? :(

One thing that happens if I snack rather eating a mini meal, I end up too full for hours and miss the next meal which puts me into a Protein deficit for the day. Ughhh.

I haven't been off Protein drinks because my "non-liquid" meals have never gotten bigger than about an ounce total. But, I may have to go back to liquids only for a while.

When you're feeling up to it, I have a crispy snack I love. It's not high Protein, but it is low cal, and feels decadent (to me!)

4 - 34 Degree Crackers

1 - Wedge Laughing Cow cheese

Total - 57 calories (3g protein)

Having gall bladder surgery in a few days and I so hope the recovery is easier than the one from the modified DS! I could use a bit of luck/pep talk for a change. I'm starting to be able to walk around without experiencing dizziness, but it would be great if the random pain in my chest and abdomen would go away!!

      Today was rough...
I've been experiencing a headache all day today that just won't go away. I'm thinking it's now progressing into a migraine. Does anyone else get headaches from taking vitamin B12? I did some research and learned that usually a lack of B12 causes headaches. But I've noticed when I take it, I have reoccurring headaches. 😫
