My man said I cheated

My man says that having the VSG surgery is cheating with weight loss. I am down 60 pounds since 10/11/17. He does not understand that VSG is only a tool. I get so frustrated trying to defend my reasoning for the surgery. How is everyone else handling this?

Smile and say "of course you are right" You don't need his approval or permission to live an amazing healthy life. Stop explaining. 60 pounds down. Fantastic work! The meme is a joke. No nee

And here I was hoping for a juicy infidelity thread... LOL Missy...you need a new man. Or you need to firmly educate the one you have. That kinda talk diminishes your extremely hard work..

Congrats on your progress!!! Stop bringing up your weight loss with him, if he hasn't understood the struggle at this point he may never get it. Don't look to him for validation on your progress, look

It’s my boyfriend

Ok well dump him. Don't even waste the energy trying to make him understand why you made the decision you did. Life is too short.

Let's see, your life/health is at stake--you could have this surgery, or you could try the other way, the one that fails about 95 percent of the time. What would he say if it were HIS health at stake?

Keeping him or dumping him is totally your choice--just like what you do with your body is.

People are weird. They want you to loose weight but they don't want you to "cheat" at it.

If the end results are the same who cares if you pulled them out of a cracker jack box?

Thanks for all the advice....no matter what you guys are supportive and I know I can come here to vent..thanks

You don't have to break up with him over this, there is great possibility that he has excessive jealousy or insecurity that makes him act this way. DO NOT attack him for being in secure. At least talk about the real issue b4 you throw this relationship away. I am a feminist too, but Damn it a good man is hard to find. You do what you you need to.

No time for explanations!! Find you a new man that you don’t have to explain yourself to! There are millions of fish in the sea. ??‍♂️

Are you serious? That's ridiculous. That is not a reason to throw a relationship away. Lol. Fool.

Yeah, he's right.

You cheated.

You cheated early death ... the extremely high likelihood of a significantly earlier mortality by shrinking yourself and the co-morbidity risks that come with obesity.

You can also exercise another choice ... calculate if he's "on the same page" as you in other aspects of life and relationships. If his commitment to you is less than it should be, excise him sooner rather than later.
