i want to share with ALL OF U someones comment that made me feel like shit tonight, just came back from visiting my bestfriends parents that have just arrived from overseas,, anyway all us girlfriends were sitting having our coffee and smoke out on the verandah, and my best friends mother turned around out of nowhere and said to me "how did u get so fat? i remember u when u were small u werent this fat" guys i just wanted to disappear,, u can all imagine...

How judgemental can someone be,, hello , never judge a book by its cover!

Anyway my girlfriends all know im going in tomorrow for surgery so they just ignored it and spoke over her,,,they tried hard to make me feel better because they all know my weight problem is a very personal and touchy topic...

After tonight's humiliation i want this band badly , no hesitation now , death or no death!!!!!im going in tomorrow!

MIND YOU this woman is a very big lady....... huge! so how dare she put me down like that,, guys u dont understand im realy f***** off!

At my 10 year high school reunion (many years ago), one of my classmates walked up to me and said, "Boy did you get Fat!" My response was "Oh, really? See I have one of those carnival mirrors in my house and I thought that I was 8 feet tall and really skinny?" He looked at me and tilted his head (like a dog would) and I walked away.

guess who came to visit me yesterday? yes, the lady that humiliated me the night before my surgery in front of my friends.......she was all nice and even said that if she sees results with me then she will consider getting banded when she comes back to live in australia..

The answer to that one of course could be 'but I can lose weight, what are you going to do about your IQ?'

What I have often found is that they who are most likely to throw the stone, are least capable of dealing with it when it is chucked back in their direction

Keep your chin up hon, and like Marnie said you will have your moment when you have lost weight ( which you will)

my husbands family are nasty and judgmental,i honestly dont understand how some people can say the cruelest things and not even think twice about it[how can they say things and not think its hurtfull]it makes me upset,glad to see im not the only one with family issues though.ginaki,i hope you do so well with your band and enjoy life,i know its hard,but try not to take peoples comments to heart,we are only hurting ourself's[not them],by letting them get to us and put us down.

Glad she at least came to see and try to make amends. Sometime it is not what people say but how they look at you! What took meover the edge is the way my mother would look at me as if I were some unattractive monster that just let myself get like this. She often asked how did I let myself get like this. If I knew the answer to that I would not look like this!! Anyway I am banded now and will work hard with this to change for me because it is important to me!

Aww, virtual hug! That was a really ignorant comment to make, especially having not seen you in years (sorry if I'm making an assumption and correct me if I am wrong)! I feel your pain, that's really harsh--but you'll have the last laugh. I hope the surgery went well!!

Focus on the fact that you have already made an important decision to do what you have to do to be a healthier, happier person.

The next time you are unfortunate enough to run into that awful woman, you'll be banded and well into your weight loss journey. Then she can just be jealous of all you've accomplished! Hee, hee! :evil:

Yep,,,heard that one too,,lolol. Being told that exact thing for a lifetime, now that I've lost 65 pounds and my neck is getting flabby and my face thinner and showing those deflated wrinkles,,when I'm feeling insecure,,it makes me wonder,,,well heck! At least I used to have a pretty face!! Positive thinking,,,positive thinking,,,haha
