February 6th vsg surgery

I’m new here and I just got my surgery date! I start my liquid diet tomorrow. I’m excited and nervous, it’s been a long year in the making. Any February surgery buddies out there?

I have the same date!! Ya us!!! I am doing two shakes and a healthy no carb dinner... I'm super excited an counting down the days... but have a tiny bit of nerves - which I know is normal. I started my journey last March so I totally understand about the patience you had to have over the last year.

February 6 my surgery date too! I just started the pre-op liquid diet today and MAN am I hangry this evening! Gonna be a long two weeks but SO worth it!

I'm curious... is ALL you're eating protein shakes? no food?

Exciting a surgery buddy!! I’m so nervous I’m scared of failing but no I can eat chicken fish and unstarchy vegetables as a small dinner along with the protein shakes for lunch and breakfast

I have my sleeve surgery booked for the 15th Feb 2018. Have not started my liver shrinking diet yet so interested to know how you get on. I have tried to do meal replacement diets in the past and they were not much fun!! [emoji30]
Keep us posted and good luck xx

Congrats on your date! Today is my first day on the liquid diet and it’s not so bad I drink the premier protein drinks and they don’t have any bad after taste and are pretty good tasting. The only thing I’m struggling with is coffee I should’ve warned myself from it but all in all so far so good
Good luck to you too !

My pre-surgery diet is full liquid for 2 weeks. My food options are: protein shakes, skim milk, Greek yogurt, cottage cheese, tomato or cream soups, applesauce, sugar-free pudding, sugar-free jello, and broth. And lots and lots of water or zero-calorie/no-sugar beverages. No caffeine. Very low sugar. I need to do at least 60g of protein and 1000 calories or less.

Last night I had a bacon cheeseburger and fries for dinner. I felt like a prisoner enjoying their last meal! Haha!!

Hi Ladies, I am scheduled for Feb 2nd! Today is day 5 of the pre-op diet. I am allowed to have 2 shakes, 1 meal of 4oz of lean protein, 1/2 cup of unrefined carbs, and unlimited vegetables throughout the day. It's hard, especially without my tea, but I am taking it one day at a time. Good luck everyone!

I am terrified that I’ll go through all of this and not be successful! Its a terrible feeling. I’m only on day 3 of the pre-op diet and haven’t stepped on a scale, but I feel less “puffy”, if that makes any sense? I won’t let myself step on a scale again until the day of surgery though. This diet is hard enough without adding on the stress I’d feel if the number didn’t go down on the scale immediately.

A co-worker of mine got the sleeve last March. She only lost 3 pounds during her 2-week pre-op diet, but then lost over 100 in the first 7 months post-op.

Mine is Feb 5th! I’m on my 2 week liquid pre-op and I’m miserable lol. I’m not allowed any solids based on the paper I was given. I already dropped about 8 lbs and it’s only day 4. Trying to stay super positive. I did have a “last meal” also before starting!
